But I found that having the fire option made the technical game play more enjoyable. I did try out going 20 into amp instead of fire golem, and extra points into curse mastery to get roughly 65% physical damage amp, instead of blood golem. At 735 damage a tick (and five of them at that) it does extremely reliable aoe damage against non immunes. This gave my golems a HUGE bump in holy fire damage. The ONLY power spike I have experienced is when I got enough pieces of trangs to get the +6 to fire mastery and level 20 fire wall. My build is 20 Pts in - Clay, Golem Mastery, Fire Golem, 20 revive. And this means magic finding with the necromancer becomes a miserable experience. If they decide to nerf summons, and don't buff bone and poison, then the necromancer becomes an unplayable class in PD2 until you can fully gear them. What I will say, is that after making it to level 89, summon necro is the only really viable necromancer setup. Unfortunately, and maybe for the first time in Diablo 2 history, the summoner necro is the best setup. Since Amplify damage removes " immunite to physical damage" from stoneskin elites, u can solo every instance with ease. Heres my build: 20 to skeletons, 20 to skeleton mastery, 20 to clay golems, 20 to golem mastery and all the rest points to Amplify damage. If your Filthy rich, you can add BEAST runeword for your mercenary to even more boost your MF capability. Important here is to understand that you need a A5 Mercenary with MIGHT aura. I can solo every basic instance diablo, baal, cows you name it( not including Ubers n Dclones) with just +6 to summoning skills in full MF gear on with +650 MF rating with this easy setup. Forget the mages, forget fire golem, forget corpe explosion. In PD2 the way to go as summonecro is to go for melee attacks, meaning forget about any elemental damage u can get. The thing here is to understand to put all your eggs in a same basket. I see people still arguing whether to max skelemages, revive, fire golems etc. People tend to level skills as they're used to in vanilla days of D2, but those days are long gone. I'd like to chance the point of view here. I've read many posts about summoner necromancer not being viable in hell and this is just not true.
